Winter beauty products I can’t live without

Dry skin, chapped lips, frigid temperatures. It’s official, winter is the worst. Every year I stock up on my winter beauty products determined to beat Mother Nature. And after years of experimenting, I can confidently say I’ve found my favourites. From adding a summer glow to exfoliating my lips, these products always deliver. Here’s my favourite winter beauty products.

My favourite winter beauty products

Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Water

A good self-tanner is nothing short of a saviour, especially when it’s a product you can feel good about buying! The Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Water is vegan, cruelty-free and organic. It can be purchased from Sephora or Amazon — it’s listed on Sephora’s Clean List meaning it’s formulated without a list of over 50 ingredients. The tanning drops come in three shades and mix easily with your moisturizer. A little goes a long way with these tanning drops, making them well worth the money.

Fresh Sugar Lip Polish Exfoliator

I used to think there was nothing that could fix my chapped winter lips, until I met the Fresh Sugar Lip Polish Exfoliator. This lip exfoliator is made with brown sugar crystals and shea butter, ingredients that gently remove dead skin and leave your lips feeling silky smooth. You can use it up to three times a week, but I find once a week works well for me. It’s great for a Sunday night-routine or a pre-glam routine.

La Roche-Posay Hydraphase UV Intense 24 Hour Face Moisturizer With SPF

I’ve been using the La Roche-Posay Hydraphase UV Intense 24 Hour Face Moisturizer With SPF for a decade now. It’s incredibly moisturizing without being heavy on your face. It also includes SPF, which is perfect for those winter months when sunscreen is the last thing on my mind! It’s formulated with natural spring water and Hyaluronic Acid, a glycosaminoglycan that is naturally produced in the skin to retain water and moisture. For the best results, moisturize within minutes of washing your face or getting out of the shower. You can purchase the La Roche-Posay Hydraphase UV Intense 24 Hour Face Moisturizer With SPF from Shopper’s Drug Mart or their website.

St. Tropez Self Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse

In the summer my half-Italian skin is beaming with an olive glow. But in the winter? I look like a ghost. Lately, I’ve been using the St. Tropez Self Tan Express Advanced Bronzing Mousse to keep that summer glow. The longer you leave it on, the darker your tan appears. It’s one of the only self-tanners that gives me a natural-looking tan and doesn’t get streaky. I use the mist or the moose, blending it with a tanning mitt from Sephora.

Hemp Heavy Duty Lip Care from The Body Shop

If you watch my stories on Instagram, you would know I’m going through a serious The Body Shop craze! I’m loving their cruelty-free all-natural products, especially the Hemp Heavy Duty Lip Care. Hemp oil has a wide range of benefits for skin. It’s moisturizing, balances out oily skin, doesn’t clog pores and is known to have anti-aging properties. The Body Shop also has an in-store recycling program, where you can bring empties back to get money towards your next purchase.

Extreme Repair Hair Mask for Damaged Hair by Shu Uemura Art of Hair

The Extreme Repair Hair Mask for Damaged Hair by Shu Uemura Art of Hair is a miracle worker. It brings moisture back into the hair and has the invigorating scent of summer. It’s infused with Japanese-sourced rice extract which is rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. I use mine once a week and let me tell you, my hair feels AMAZING after!

Saje Safe Hands Hand Cream

Dry air and cold temperatures suck the humidity out of the air, making your skin work harder and eventually crack. Combine this with hot showers, and you’ll get dry skin that just won’t go away. To combat the effects of nature I keep hand cream in every room. My favourite one at the moment is the Saje Safe Hands Hand Cream. It has a cooling peppermint feeling, and doesn’t make your hands feel oily or greasy. It’s also the perfect neutral looking bottle to match my decor, which is always a win-win!
